Aylesbury Plantation is a picturesque rural conservation community designed for those who want to escape the fast pace of crowded urban living—and the accompanying high land prices—for the peace and solitude of the country.  It is located about 35 miles east of Tallahassee near the Georgia-Florida state line in an unincorporated rural community known as Ashville.

The scenic rolling countryside, rich in history, is still owned mainly by large landowners, many of them farmers.  One of these landowners has carefully selected 111 acres of his most beautiful land along US 221 and transformed it into this attractive conservation development.

The development consists of 47 spacious lots nestled around lush meadows and woodlands and accessed by paved streets.  In keeping with the concept of a conservation development, two-thirds (73 acres) of the land is preserved as open space that will be owned and managed by the homeowners association, sparing homeowners the expensive and dauntless task of maintaining their own large acreage tracts.

The Aylesbury project includes plans for more than two miles of nature and fitness trails meandering through green pastures and pristine forests.  Exercise stations and “solitude stations,” which are benches in a quite wooded setting, are interspersed along the trails.  At the end of one trail, stands an observation tower overlooking a wildlife feed plot.  There will be a picnic park in a grove of majestic live oaks, a playground for the kids or grandkids, a community vegetable garden and even a fruit orchard.

In addition, there will be an athletic field big enough for soccer, softball or just romping in the fresh air.  For horse lovers, there will be a large horse pasture and a site dedicated for the construction of a horse barn.
